ADMINISTRATION

Br. Günther Nährich

The Administration block is located about 200m east of the main gate and just adjacent to Medical Ward from the north.  This building accommodates offices and the boardroom.

This section of the hospital is located at the heart of the hospital since it is frequented by the staff members, visitors and the students seeking assistance. This is the most guaranteed place to find the hospital administrator, the human resource officers, the IT officer and the Biomedical Engineer. The Medical superintendent and the Principle Nursing officer are sometimes called to the wards to attend to special cases, in times when they’re not in office.




RADIOLOGY

Mr. Charles Nangiro – Incharge

The Department aides diagnosis through imaging with the modalities;

X-ray

Ultrasound Scan

The department is well equipped with a functional protec and profario HF60 X-ray generator, Edan dus60 ultrasound. With the aid of the committed team of radiographers Fred and Emma, the digital X-ray images can be transmitted to the different departments for interpretation. The flat panel detector allows for automatic image processing by sending in 3s after exposure, this attributes to the first x-ray scans at Our Hospital.




THEATRE

Opus Simon Peter

The theatre was set up at the very start of the Hospital operations 50 years ago. Surgical procedures ranging from minor to complex surgeries are conducted here.The department is outstanding due to the dedication and commitment of the team comprised of two senior surgeons, Support surgeons, nurses, two anaesthetists and other support members of the team. A fundamental set of medical equipment are installed in the department to aid in the procedures. The department currently lacks a functional C-arm.

Every month, an average of 74 minor surgeries and 103 major surgeries are conducted in the Theatre. 




LABORATORY

AMEI SIMON PETER

St. Kizito Hospital Matany Laboratory is open 24 hours in 7 days a week. Majority of the tests being complete blood count(CBC) malaria tests each averaging about 1000 tests in a month.

A daily average of about 480 tests are run in Our Laboratory, a monthly average of 13,090 and a yearly average of about 17,000 tests. All thanks to the committed team of staff from the department with the assistance of range of the equipment installed.

The team is comprised of qualified laboratory technicians and technologists headed by Amei Simon Peter.

The costs of equipments in the Lab are footed by the hospitals and others by The Aids Support Organisation (TASO)




PHYSIOTHERAPY


The Physiotherapy department singlehandedly managed by our Physiotherapist provides pain relief and rehabilitation through physical means.

The Hospital is doing its best to equip this department further with the necessary physiotherapy equipment to widen the range of rehabilitatory activities offered.




MATERNITY WARD


Considered to be the root of life, this department brings to life hundreds of babies a month with the help of the highly passionate midwives and expert services by our Gynaecology specialist, Dr John Bosco Nsubuga.Fitted inside is a small neonatal unit where prematurely born babies get every chance to life as much as the babies from normal delivery and caesarean section.

There are 42 beds in this departments and the department admits about 200-300 mothers monthly.




MEDICAL WARD

In-charge: Logiel Kizito

The medical Ward receives the sick adults with various range of illnesses from all over the catchment area. Headed by Logiel Kizito, the department has made the most remarkable progress in recent years.It’s strategic location just east of the outpatient department makes it easy to identify.

There are 41 beds in this department and the number of admissions averages 100 per month.




CHILDREN’S WARD

In-charge: Aloyo Agnes

Also commonly known as the paediatric ward, this is where young children receive medical attention when admitted to the inpatient section of the hospital. The department is adjacent to the medical ward from the south.

The department averages 600 admissions in a month most times occupying all of the 88 beds through the successive admissions.

OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT (OPD)


As its name suggests, it is always the first section a patient is most likely to visit on the first time at the hospital. it is located just north of the main gate. Illnesses that aren’t deemed necessary for admissions are attended from here. 

The department conducts a monthly average of 2682 attendance comprised of below 5 years of age, above 5 years of age and reattendance.

The department is comprised of workshops; Carpentry, metal works and fabrication, building, mechanics, building, electrical and many other sections. Headed by Mr. Bruno Frank, the department is driven by the team effort from over 20 staff members that are dedicated to make sure the healthcare activities are provided with every support it needs.
