Dennis serves as the Sustainability & Partnerships Coordinator at St. Kizito Hospital Matany (SKHM). In this role, he supports the hospital’s mission to remain accessible, resilient, and responsive to the health needs of the people of Karamoja and beyond.
Given the low-income context of the hospital’s catchment area, Dennis works to strengthen resource mobilisation and sustainability efforts beyond highly subsidised user fees and existing health programmes. His focus is on building meaningful partnerships with corporate institutions, development partners, and socially responsible organisations that recognise the critical impact SKHM has on regional healthcare delivery.
Dennis actively engages partners in supporting priority needs such as:
-
Equipping the renovated and expanded operating theatre
-
Procurement of essential medical equipment, including ultrasound machines and autoclaves
-
Strengthening the Samaritan Fund, which supports destitute and vulnerable patients unable to meet the cost of care
-
Establishment of a separate private consultation area at Outpatient Department
-
Pavement of the main access area within the Hospital
-
Etc.
Through collaboration, transparency, and shared responsibility, Dennis helps position SKHM as a trusted partner for organisations seeking to make a tangible and lasting contribution to healthcare in one of Uganda’s most underserved regions.
Why Sustainability Matters
St. Kizito Hospital Matany (SKHM) serves a predominantly
low-income population in one of Uganda’s most vulnerable regions. User fees are highly subsidised and cannot fully sustain essential health services. To remain accessible, effective, and responsive to the health needs of the community, the Hospital relies on strategic partnerships beyond user fees and public health programmes.
Corporate institutions play a vital role by embracing their social responsibility and supporting impactful, life-saving healthcare services that benefit the entire Karamoja Region and beyond.
Priority Areas for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Support
SKHM is currently seeking support in the following key areas:
-
