St Kizito Hospital Matany accepts over 20 volunteers every calendar year based on the need in the area of specialty and the availability of welfare for the volunteers.

Pre-INTERNSHIP
RECENTLY GRADUATED MEDICAL STUDENTS
Pre-internship is such a great opportunity to find a bridge between the Medical school and a forthcoming internship. The majority of our interns liked the experience and preferred to be posted with us, moreover, some returned to volunteer further after the internship.
There are a few conditions that are to be met by the pre-interns to create a win-win situation;
- A Pre-intern will need to find a place to stay during this time; you will need to rent out close to the hospital.
- The hospital does not pay volunteers other than the teaching and training/supervision volunteers receive from the doctors (specialists and Medical officers).
- As it stands, there is no specific arrangement for meals, other than breakfast served within the hospital, A volunteer will have to get meals out of pocket. The hospital has a proper cafeteria where meals are served over 12 hours a day.

INTERNSHIP
MEDICAL INTERNSHIP
St Kizito Hospital Matany has been accredited to offer medical internships for medical students as required by the Ministry of Education.
Since its inception in 2020, over 15 intern doctors have successfully practiced at Matany Hospital. Rotations available are: general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology.

I arrived in early June, fresh out of med school, carrying a backpack stuffed with textbooks and nerves. The hospital gates opened onto that familiar red‑brick corridor, the scent of antiseptic blending with the crisp Matany air. Dr. Ssembusi John, the Head of Interns, welcomed us with a firm handshake and a knowing smile that said.
JUNIOR PROJECT OFFICER
The Junior Project Officer (JPO) project offers 6 months of field experience at St Kizito Hospital Matany among other facilities in Africa. It is aimed at trainees who intend to prepare for a future international health cooperation commitment and face global health challenges in their own country.
Our Volunteers had a fun-filled weekend hiking Mount Moroto, 3,083 m or 10,115 ft high.
