The Surgical Ward admits patients through the Surgical Clinic as well as casualties (road traffic accidents, assault cases or any other trauma patients.

The presence of a Surgeon (CUAMM volunteer) in the Hospital has attracted many patients from outside the region thus increasing the expenses of the Hospital considering that the full cost of these interventions remains unaffordable to the people.

As in all inpatient departments a doctor is available 24 hours/day and the nursing care uninterrupted, a team of dedicated and skilled Staff. 1,128 minor and 1,016 major operations were done last year (2011-212) and 30{3cfda7666065d6846b6243cbb39cab647b21df42742c83459139451fbdbed462} of these are emergency operations.
